Big City Thunder make some to suit the Big Radius pipes, see bottom of this page headed "For curved pipes"

    http://www.bigcitythunder.com/pages/product-fit.html

I looked into this once as a contingency in case the Big Radius were too loud but after hearing them I reckon they're just right, personally I wouldn't mess with the sound.

It might just be the fact that I'm used to them now but mine seem pretty mellow to me these days.

I recall seeing an example video on YouTube with a before and after of the Big City Thunder baffles, do a search on there.

    Thanks KC & B

I was also thinking of wrapping the existing baffles with fibreglass

or some type of material that the muffler shop can suggest

I agree with KC the sound doesnt seem loud but here in NSW

the boyz in blu set themselves up with noise recorders ( they look like hand held speed cameras )

on main roads. So far I've only seen semis being pulled up.

I think compliance is 94 DB - to give you an idea the screamin' eagle slip ons are around 96 DB

not sure if it gets measured when idiling or reving at a nominated rpm

I think there is an ever growing market for these things out there. What about an automated baffle

where you can flick a switch and it restricts just when you want to.

any engineers in the HD forum family ?

    Fat Tony,

Yeah when it comes to the fun police any pipes other than stock will be defected for noicse.  I had the SE Street Performance slip-ons on the Sporty which are so called 50 state street legal in the U.S and I still got defected for noise with those.

With your last comment about a pipe you can switch, there is such a thing around I recall reading about it.  Maybe someone can remember what they are called?

ive tried just about every "quiet" baffle available for big rads none make a change, those hard core baffles do absolutly nothing. i custom made fiber glass wrapped baffles out of perf tube they cut noise to similar to SE slip ons

the O/D of the stock baffle leaves no room to wrap anything around em, the fiberglass matt is 4 or 5mm thick, i used some 38mm od perf tube got it rolled to the radius of the pipe, lathed up some rings, but the best result is to put a cap over the inner end of the perf tube and ran the tig on the ring about a third of the way down. thats the only way i can get em quiet, the aftermarket stuff is all crap, running tape around the baffles i think will do very little. and will only last one or two rides before it burns out
