Dyna horn relocation

After installing the Lenale cooling fan (see here) where the horn used to be I've had a bit of a dilemma about where to relocate the horn.  After trying out several locations I finally removed the cow bell cover and stuck the internal horn in between the batter box and the electrical box on the inside of the frame.  It's totally hidden now, I'm pretty happy with it.

that looks cool KC, I didn't think there would be any room in there....

Did you have to remove the battery and battery box to fit it? and is there a bolt in there somewhere you used to mount it?

I'll be moving mine there too now... good one.

Yes Noit that cow bell ruined my draggin jeans too

    Daggs,

No, I didn't need to remove the battery.  The horn fits in that gap quite comfortably, I found it pretty easy to squeeze it in the gap from the left side of the bike.

You can bolt it to the back of the battery box, but I suspect the head of the bolt on the inside would hit the battery.  So all I did was attach a big size zip tie to the back of the horn using a metal tab, then I removed the seat and fed the zip tie through and I just tied it to the top of the battery box, ie there's a gap in the back of the batter box near the top which you can slip a zip tie through.  Then I just pulled it reasonably tight.  That was enough to secure the horn from moving forward but still allows it to move slightly.

btw... KC, there is no way my horn will fit in where you have yrs, mine has a heap of crap already taking up room there. stuff for the active exhaust, i already have mine disconnected and have tghe plug "eliminated" but yrs must have even more components removed??

Would relocating the horn make my softail unroadworthy? I am in the process of relocating my horn and want to cut the original tab for a clean look. Jus want to know in case I ever have to get a RWC
