hi all , i have just gotten my custom softail (was 1995 heritage) on the road after building it over the last 9 months and im about to wire up an aftermarket speedo i bought , my mate who helped me buil the bike did all the wiring and left the three supposed wires (red , black and white) hanging out on the left side of the oil tank ( he is now working interstate) .  Last night i went to connect the speedo up and i first tested these wires for power and there wasnt any power there so i was quickly stopped in my tracks soon after here as im really not that cluey with wiring !!!

has anyone had any experiance with putting an aftermarket speedo on the harley before please ??
