    Hi Guys

Have been offered a SE Race fueler and Stage I AC for a decent price. So what exactly is involved with fitting (I am okay with the spanners but scared of reading about ECM calibration......).Does it need an ignition module? I am not wanting to raise the rev limit, or does this have another effect?

Does it need to be dynoed to run well?  Am I likely to see much HP gain ( I have modded stock pipes, and don't really want any more noise). Otherwise I have a stock Iron 883.

    Thanks for any help.

Is it brand new or used?

The SERT for the carby models, marries its self to the ICM of the bike.

Not sure about the SERF if it does the same but you could be throwing money away if it does.

The SERT is dead easy but the SERF has a whole lot of other adjustments you can do (I have no clue of).

The SERF was an add-on device that simply allowed you to adjust fuel so you can lean out a little or richen up a bit for different rpm ranges. So it was not paired to the bike like the SERT was, so you shouldn't have any problems moving it to your bike. I've had no experience with one, but recall reading that there was some confusion in how to fine-tune the fuelling using one.

    Hey Guys

    Thanks for the replies.

Have decided to not fix what ain't broken, and not go ahead with this, as I really am happy with the bike the way it is ( even after a recent ride on my mates  hotted up 883/1200 ).

Not sure about how I will feel a month or so down the track, though..........

On a sportster, its a piece of piss to install.

I have a 1200C. You get at the injector connectors on the left hand side. Raise the tank from where it meets your seat to make it easier. They look like the connections the SERF comes with, naturally.

Get them off, and form a loop connecting the SERF's connectors. Then feed the module back to fit in your battery area - and hook the power cable to your black connection/terminal on the battery. There's room enough for the module to fit in this area.

I tried tuning per the XLForum and numerous trips around a few blocks. I found the bike idled nicely, but when riding, it would lag then surge and pop and splutter like a mofo no matter what the setting. It got yanked pretty quickly.

People have been keen for V&H fuelpaks but even they don't seem to last long on their bikes either. I think the expensive tuners and software or a dealer tune is the way to go and these simpler add-ons are money wasted that you could've used for dyno time etc.
