I currently run the s&s slip ons and are looking to change to the v&h short shots - I have heard that i may lose back pressure and in turn power? how true is this statement do you think?

You have a non-stock air cleaner, that may impact on a diagnosis. There's less pipe with the short shots too.

V&H pipes certailny pass the seat-of-the-pants test but they are raucously loud, a NASCAR driver would even blush to hear them. They seem to enduce some decel pop too. How are your S&S slip ons? I wouldn't mind something quieter in terms of DB than V&H that actually keep the tone of the bike's exhaust.

Yep, quite possibly. I have the short shots with the quiet baffle... I get just 70hp and 76 torque paired with a SE AC. I love the sound, but do get some popping on decel. I don't think that mine are sinfully loud... or maybe I just ride with a bunch of loud bastards lol. Certainly not as loud as V&H competition / Indy 2-1 stainless pipe. The side shots are better for power, but also dearer and a different kind of look that you may or may not appreciate. I've been wanting the Rhinehart 2-1 but have other projects that are taking precedence for my $$ at the moment.

Thanks for that. The op will be happy with the info if he’s still with us after 9 years. Good on you for contributing.
