they are both a good choice steve i like the rkc for the fact you get the hard panniers but you do get a lot of room in those leather bags aswell.good luck with your choice.

hey robert , thanks for the reply, was just talkin to the stealers and i think i will go with the RK the solid wheels sound a better option than the spokes which is what might sway me that way, dont have that many spare hours in the day to be cleaning em, with the twin disks they look like a bitch to be keepin clean

Road King is much more better bang for your buck than the Classic,

You can lock your hard panniers,

You can run tubless tyres on the RK (plus the mags are easier to keep clean

You get the ABS & Cruise like the Classic,

And for the $2.5K you save, yoy can get your pipes and breather/tune done.

    Loving mine

you would think it would be an easy decision, the pain in the arse cleaning the wheels, the extra $3,500, the panniers, ok thanks for your opinions, itsbetter to ask before the event rather than kick myself in the arse later

I've got an RK and me old man has the classic, He's recently invested in some 3 spoked mags, partly cos they look pretty schmick, and partly cos they're a whole lot quicker on cleaning day.

His bags still look pretty bloody good 7 years on, since they're hard panniers covered in leather rather than the old style soft leather panniers that tend to sag over time, also, both styles can fit a similar amount in them. The major difference is that the hard panniersare lockable and tend to be a tad more weather resistant, which was the deal sealer for me (being in Ballarat and all). Hope that helps some.

    Long Live the King,

    Bear

Kiwi boot polish keeps the RKC bags looking new. Mine are 10yrs old & look like they just came off the showroom floor.

I went for the Classic purely on the look, as it sez "Classic" Both look good depends on what you like. Next bike, if it happens may be a Street Glide, they look tough as well. Cleaning the wheels is a breeze if you use a bike lift and special spoke brush.
