noise when starting

    Hi Guys Back again

    A Mate of mine (parrot) has a 2006 softail it had a noise when starting coming from the primary area it was under waranty so took back to dealer.

    they said broken tooth on the ring gear: when it came back the noise went for a couple of weeks, now there is occasionally a loud sound which sounds like the starter and ring gear are clashing badly. I have never had a primary of a softtail so what I am looking for is some Ideas and if this is a common problem

    it happen to mine bad noise when starting it . it turned out to be the ecm when it got hot  the timing change  got a thunder max auto tuner .no problems now.
