OK. I need advice on saddle bags, packs etc. all them storage thingies that hang off and pack on ya bike for long runs.

I'm off on the 'Rumble to the Rock' next month and I need storage.

Harley stuff is expensive so are there other alternatives out there that are just as good in fit and quality.

    Would rather have detachable saddlebags

    Hi Magilla,

Mate check out Motodry stuff  Australia based. www.motonational.com.au

I just got a small gearsac for my Sportster and it is a very well made, well thought out bag, plenty of pockets, attaches to a rack and velcros to a backrest.

They make a good range of bags, I checked out Harley stuff and all the other brands but nothing really suitable for Harleys.

    Goodluck and enjoy your ride

I got some saddlebags with ghost brackets from Kazzmazz leather in Perth. The ghost mounts dont spoil the look of your ride when the bags are detached.

Yeah ''easy brackets'' were around before ghost brackets and I think are a little better but basically do the same thing. You get two locking pins that replace two of your strut bolts and two brackets that bolt to the back of any bag you choose to buy. I fitted them to my softy.I ordered the brackets from the states and bought the bags local,it all cost about $600. BARGAIN!!!! The bags lock on with a key and take about two seconds to remove and you are left with two neat pins on each side after removing them. EASY. I ordered direct from easy brackets and they cost me $205 including postage, bags cost $355 of the shelf after haggling and I put some perspex in the back of the bags for extra support when I bolted the brackets to them $34.

I've gotta give Adrian from Mr. Hides leather work a plug. Has been making leather goods for Harleys and Indians for around 25 years. No, he isn't on the web but advertises in a cupla aussie mags. Aussie leather, hand made for you in Australia. Hmmm, he's prolly in the phone book too.

Risky, thanks for the Motodry link, they have some good prices there. I'm after a bag for the rear carrier and they look suitable at a reasonable price.
