Hi all, i was out riding yesterday and had a few issues with my rear brake, i rode approx 300km and one my way home (luckily about a km away from home.....) my rear brake started to drag and smoke started to come from the rear caliper, i got the bike home and let it sit for and hour or so then the brake went back to nornal, any idea what this could be? was the fluid on the boil? how could i stop this happening again?

    thanks wayne

quite likely that the master cyl has gunk/corrosion build-up internally(as in most likely between the plastic sleeve and the actual cyl), preventing the correct release of hydraulic pressure, though over time(of non brake use) the fluid may ber able to seep back through, causing things to appear normal again
a lttle bit of dried brake fluid can hold a huge amount of pressure
if smoke was coming from the brake pads being tight on the disc, it is possible that the rotor may now be deformed due to the heat
