got nabbed for pipes air cleaner, smoke tailight and rear indicator lenses and suprise suprise  handlebars.

got it nearly all changed back, just pipes to do then get the sticker off.... knew it was gonna happen sooner or later.... shit happens

yeah they let me ride it home, I actually could ride it for 24hrs before it had to be off the road but like I was gonna ride it and get pulled over again. Really kicking myself for going for a spin with so many out of town coppers around but not too fazed.

My bike was always going to attract afair bit of attention with the bars I had on, i knew that, just a pisser that i was only out cruizin minding my own business and that as I questioned them, my pretty wel unblemished driving record of 28 years doesn't count for shit. After asking for just a warning with taking my record ionto account and the law not being interested at all in that, I thought I better shut up before losing my cool and making things worse....

I was under the impression that the smoked coloured lenses were ok too as long as the bulbs wereamber for indicators and red for brakes, which mine were (and will be again but they said no. They can say anything though can't they!! what can you do!!

Air cleaner and pipes not standard i guess, don't meet epa emissions regs, no cover on air cleaner, std fucking ugly football one back on now!!! std pipes back on tomorrow night lol.

one thing, the std mini apes which i put back on today sure are the most comfy out of the 4 sets of bars I've had on her, but 1" is too skinny, I'll have to make or buy some 1-1/4" flat black ones to the same dimensions.

that sucks, we get the same shit every time we ride from Queensland into N.S.W and it starts about Grafton and finishes about Tarree although they havn't started tinted lenses but always give it to us for bars,pipes and helmets. My theory is that the mid north coast is where they send all the coppers that the cops don't like.

havent the cops got better things to do like catching criminals that murder ppl , drug dealers , find missing person's & ppl stealing etc etc , seems like a revenue raising exercise to me & they piss off the bikers @ the same time ..

All the new model cars have clear or smoked rear lenses, Yamaha V star came out with smoked lenses in 06, I think they're haveing a go at you.

Unfortunately most of us have been through this sort of shit. The focus, in the press, here in SA has sort of moved from bikers, to the soft cock politicians and their bad behaviour in Parliament. No one told the Police to stop hassling bike riders though.

I'm happy for them to scrutinise away - if its a level playing field. As far as I know, I see these on the road daily that go seemingly unpunished:

- Trucks (usually rigids) bellowing black smoke out to an unbelievable level
- Taxi that would be lucky to be roadworthy in Africa. And those headlights, do they just guess how they set them as part of being a taxi?
- Muzza and Bogan Bommordores and Found-On-Rubbish-Dump cars and utes, and those shitty turbo japper cars - as loud as any Harley most of the time, lowered, and some are just shitboxes no matter what the mods. Least I get to laugh at these.

Many technical faults to be had out there. I wouldn't like to think any of us get "preferential treatment" in this regard... I mean how can they seriously book for smoked lenses when those annoyingly fag, little LED window-squirter lights are everywhere.

The one that bugs me is car brake lights. They discovered many years ago that having a centre (third) brake light reduces the number of rear-enders. Every day I see dozens and dozens of cars with one of the corner brake lights not working. I would even say up to 10% of all cars. You never see a cop pull them up for it which makes the 3rd light concept next to useless, and the cops too.
