While having brakes changed at the local bike shop (Triumph Dealer) top job for next to nothing… I was told by the mechanic about the new Triumph Thunderbird…The salesman (which is his job) was saying that it was the next Harley beater and voted best cruiser in the states, can out brake, heaps of grunt etc…I don’t know, have a soft spot for Triumphs, but while a good looking bike, it’s a different lifestyle etc…anyway each his own... here’s a few pics…
Not a bad looking bike, What dealer was that at ?
Camden bike shop...don't know name
Thought I recognised it. Camden Bike and Power. They rang me a few weeks ago to test ride it.
I'll take them up on it when i get time. Good to know they dont charge like wounded bulls.
Boring the only thing that will beat Harley is Harley
I went to the release at P/S in Adelaide recently and was appauled by the Triumph mechanic putting shit on Harleys(he even said that he owns one) as he was tearing down the demo Thunderbird motor. They designed the new motor with internalised pipes(oil/coolant) and the water pump is driven off the oil pump.......all in the sump! Whats that going to cost to fix when it fails??
nah Rocka.. i don't like it...as many are saying, seems like Triumph wants a Harley lookalike...
it looks like another one of the many metric rip off Harley wannabe bikes , nothing special @ all IMO "actually it sux's" that Triumph couldnt make it their own . i like old Truimphs & current Bonnievilles , this new Thunder Bird is aimed straight @ the US market & looks just like any other Metric rip off "only its got Triumph badging" ..
Does look similar to the Yamaha V Star. Doen't look like a bad bike but not my style. I'd give the style points to RT's TR6
I like it. I also like the Rocket next to it. Still, Harley is the more superior bike in terms of fit and finish.
