Hi All
I have a 2008 CVO and the powder coating is pealing off the heads and cylinders. I took it to the dealer and they offered to replace the cylinders and heads. My questions to someone knowledgeable are;
1/. Shouldn't the new barrels have new pistons matched to the barrels ?
2/. What about the rings. Should they be new as well ?
3/. Do I have to run it in again ?
4/. Will it place any strain on the rest of the motor which has 15,00 K on it ?
Regards

1) I would have thought that the pistons should be fine, they would replace the barrels with the exact same size so they should fit just fine.
2) Yes, I would demand that if they are going to the trouble of replacing the barrels they would replace the rings (and gaskets) with new ones.
3) I replaced the barrels on my Sporty when I did the big bore, I ran the new barrells and pistons in for a couple of hundred km's then I just rode it normal it was fine after that.
4) I wouldn't think it would be an issue, this happens all the time when people get big bore kits done.
Thanks guys
