I've changed the name of the chat room to "The Bar".  When ever a user is in "The Bar" a beer glass will show up next to their name in the Who's Online list.

 how about every 15min's your in there you get a empty glass next to your name?

The content system that I'm using doesn't allow for pop-up windows from a main menu, but if you press CTRL + N, that will open a new window in the same session, ie same login, then you can simply go into the chat in one window and the forum in the other.
