Guys, this is probably out of left field, but I have just registred for this forum and am looking for Road king advice.

I have just bought my third Harley after a 15 year absence!!  It is a 2010 Road King Classic and I love it!  The only thing that gets to me is the sound with stock pipes (like a sewing machine).  Can anyone advise what would be a good set of slip-ons?  I am looking for a good idle note as well as good rumble while on the move - nothing hugely loud, but enough to know I am riding a great Harley!!  Also, I don't want to have to remap the EFI or change Air Intake - is that possible with what I imagine will then be a leaner running machine witha changed exhaust?

I have looked at Screaming Eagles as well as Vance&Hines, but I am told they are not that great and they don't really appeal to me.  Is there anything out there that anyone would recommend (Rineharts maybe) and where would I get them in AS.

Hi Razor - just bought 3 weeks ago new 2009 RoadKing - I put on a set of V&H Monster ovals with black tips - sound great, look great, and give about an extra 5hp - everyone raves about them - im very happy - i havent done my airfilter either - im leaving it stock - plenty of power for me.

Hey Craig, noted what you said about the monster ovals.  I have am still considering what to pt on the bike.  With the stock exhaust, I find it very restrictive.  Seems to be a little flat in mid range.  Is this usual without a better exhaust.  I would like to chnage that so there is a steady power surge.  Any advice?  Also, have you done any remapping as i am concerend about dmage to the system with a non factory exhaust and the bike running very lean.

    Thanks Razor

Hi Razor Just had my my first service at Harley Heaven last Friday 1500kms Monster Ovals are great. I have not done anything else to the engine - ie no air change or remapping - bike runs great had no problems at all. Im not planning on any engine mods has plenty of power for my needs.
    Regards Craig
