Thailand is an amazing place to spend some time. Fine people, awesome beaches and pretty girls. One thing missing. Throughout this whole thread I haven't read one single word about riding a f**king motorbike!!!! Am I missing something or is the whole Phuket Bike Week just about drinking beer and talking bikes!?! Where's the Full-Day Harely Tour, the 3-Day Harley Tour the 5-day Harley Tour etc etc.....
Apologies if there was a post I missed.
3 weeks and counting
10 days and counting
Thanks for the invite Fat Tony!!! One of these days I'll make it there at the right bloody time of year!! Work is the usual restriction for me. Anyway, I'm booked in for the HOG trip from Singapore via Malaysia to Krabi in June with one other rider from Oz (Perth) as far as I know and about 150 other Harleys. Can't wait. Just wish I could takle my own bike but that's not gonna happen in my lifetime with all these stupid bloody rules we have now. Mark Webber was dead right with his comments the other day.
all the best mate and have a great Bike Week!
arrived last night and looking forward to catching up with the guys at Nikki's tonight...
saw the funniest thing last night... patch club from Singapore in their leathers..... all two up on scooters
well after all the hype from Fat Tony he and his mates have not yet come up for air... and don't know what happened to Bangkok Bob, just hope he made the road trip ok....
not too worry as I had a great time and met some great people, especially at Nicky's
as for Bike Week... would be great to get Fat Tony's take on the even. Based on clips from previous years this year was a letdown just like Gold Coast in '08. Only Ducati and Yamaha/Kwaka dealers and a few custom bikes. Site was spread over different locations. Overall only cost me a couple hundred bucks so not worried... enjoyed myself and have made a few more bike mates from Thailand.
Harley's were in the minority, but this is understandable given the high taxes.... lots of Jap cruisers from 250cc - 750cc... but all pretty noisy.
some pics will be posted up in photo section, but as a lot of what I saw was at night it was not good for photography so hopefully Fat Tony will have surfaced to post something. Saw a lot of nice bikes but they were generally on the move and didn't see many parked up. Hopefully Tony will have some of the charity ride yesterday.
also quite a few local clubs from Thailand and Malaysia
no problems FT... btw, hows Patpong? Seen lots of photos of empty street and barbed wire roadblocks!!!!!
Hey Uncle Ho

FT
Hey Uncle Ho, I believe you stayed in room 213 of the "loveli guesthouse". That was my old room, i checked out after one night in that flea pit. Went around the corner to a hotel with a pool, nice staff and a light breakfast thrown in as well (700thb per night). The rooms were twice as good as the loveli flea pit and the staff great. Here are some pics of the bike week for those interested. These few were taken inside the Jung Ceylon complex.
Cheers
Matt
Some more........
Ah ha..........just noticed pics in another area, pretty much the same as what I've got. Taken at the beach at night and in the park opposite during the day.
