and stone throw to Bangla Rd

Even cheaper ones but they are about 1 km away - feels like 10km when ur pissed.

Newby here to the forum Tony, but am interested in this trip. Fares seem pretty reasonable for that time of the year too. What's that hotel like?

The hotel where I stay is called C & N Hotel , located in Soi C&N

just off main drag & stone throw to Bangla rd & beach

I havent checked recently but last time was 1000 TBH which is $30AUD

so for 7 nights is $210 - which includes an American Style breakfast

 

My sister has booked herself into a place called R Mar hotel Patong  (same time as bike show)

she paid $250 AUD for 7 nights including breakfast

which is an excellent deal

I'm starting to make a move now. Jetstar prices fluctuate depending on specials

What major city are you departing from ?

Thanks Tony, will probably be leaving a couple of days earlier before the bike week starts. Haven't locked in dates as yet. Flexible on return, maybe stay around 3 weeks at this stage. I'd like to leave my return date open and make my mind up when I'm there. Will be departing out of Sydney. I'll check out your recomended hotel, also the one where your sister is staying. Where are you leaving from?

I just sent a message to R MAR - they are quoting 3800 TBH which works out as you say $120 aprrox a night
Sister has booked herself in already and has confirmation.
I'll see if I can use this as leverage.

I've got a mate (an ex Pat) who lives in Patong - I'll call him and ask him to see what deal he can pull.
In the past I've just rocked up and you do get a good deal. Plenty of places to stay.
But I think with an event like this it would pay to secure something before.
C&N is a good place, nothing flash but clean & friendly and they have Airport pick up.
If you arrange your own cab from the Airport - fare should be between 450THB & 600THB (15 - 20 AUD)
customary to spot anyone that does something for you 20THB (70cents)  lowest paper denomination.

I'm planning on leaving 7th April 2010 - plane leaves around 2:30pm
with time difference should be in Phuket by 20:30pm their local time.
Leaving 26th April 2010 ( after ANZAC Day ) which is a great night.

Rob - your welcome to travel with us, just need to make it to either Melbourne or Sydney.
Any Melbourne boyz can catch this flight as it starts in Melbourne
and picks up passengers in Sydney then straight to Phuket.

Tony, have you booked flights yet with those dates? What's the go with Anzac day over there? If it's worth staying for,  I could stay till then no worries.

havent booked as yet - but will this week

ANZAC day is a great day over there - as it is here, play two up from lunch time
and come towards evening the owners of Lillys Bar & another bar (sorry cant remeber)
diagonally opposite each other in OTOP markets, put a free BBQ on for all Aussies & New Zealanders
got some great pics last year - there is a group of about 11 guys from Newcastle that make the trip
every year. I'll see If I can scan a photo from the Phuket Post (of me and of a mate of mine that lives there) from last years Anzac Day.

I'll post dates up, definitely going on the 7th April not sure about coming home either the 23rd or 26th
interested to see what Rob, Paul C think or what anyone else is thinking of doing.

where they try and sell you time share / holidays.
