The Tasmanian Motorcycle Council remains strongly opposed to plans for a three-lane Midland Highway divided by wire.
The Tasmanian Government has recruited a Swedish expert to push its case for a three-lane design.
The Council's president Shaun Lennard says wire dividers are unsafe.
"At the same time as the system from Sweden was first being lauded in Tasmania, we had other countries in Europe actually moving away from it, " he said.
The Government has dismissed the Liberal's plan for a four-lane highway as unaffordable.
