I have oil leaking around the stator connection plug and have read that using

a small oring fixes it, problem is my wires are soldered into the plug.

Would it be ok to cut the wires halfway between the plug and regulator

and fit oring to leak then rejoin them ? It's an 89 evo.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, as long as you rejoin them well, i`d go solder and heatshrink.

Used good ol silastic around the plug and seems to have worked for now anyway.

Will look at replacing  later on.
