Don't know where you are from but I would sugest going into a dealer and asking them.

I was put onto a guy here in SA through the Harley Heaven who has all the gear to properly cut down the screen.  I have a detachable on my Fat boy, and I don't get any buffering when I use it. I can just see over the top of the screen if I sit bolt upright. Otherwise I look through it, which is supposedly not correct (you should look over it). I want to cut mine down cause I recon it would look better, but it's not buffering now and I am scared I might stuff it up if I do. I recon Heritager Softail's look good with screens, other bikes don't. But sitting behind one on a long trip is definitely less tiring.  RT is a bloody legend, a freak of nature with an iron arse and neck .

There is another thread in here somewhere on the topic also.  Hope you sort it out.

When I had my Heritage,I hated the look through the screen way of riding,as RT said,if I wanted to look through a screen I would drive the car.So I had 2" cut off the top of the screen and you virtually couldn't ride the bike, because the turbulence it created was so bad around the helmet area.If you are tall and sit up tall when you ride you are probably experiencing this sort of thing,if only in a more mild form. There is a company in the U.S. that makes screens in different heights, and also with a recurve at the top of the screen to deflect the air up and away from the helmet area. The company name is Clearview Screens,if you do a search on the net,it will come up if that is what you might be interested in,but be warned, they have a good product, but their delays suck.

I'm 5'8 or 178.5cm in height. I have a full height quick release windscreen on my Fatboy for the long trips.

If I sit up straight I can see over the top. In my normal sitting position I am looking through the screen about an inch below the top.

When I first fitted the screen I really noticed the 'Fatty Vautin' head wobble. Now that I'm used to it I don't notice it. (only with hangovers) In fact I'm not sure if I have a head wobble any more. Maybe the neck is stronger.

I did find that the taller I sat above the windscreen the more head wobble I got.
