G`day all, complete newbie here, just bought my first road bike , an `87 FXRC project.

Rode dirt bikes until it started to hurt after a prang then gave them away for a few years.Hope to have the bike on the road for next summer.

G'day Blacky. Yeah I used to race dirt bikes and now all my bones ache because of it, I miss it though. Good luck with your project, it would be great to see some photos.

Thanks fellas, have just bought the bike from a dealer in the states, I have been on Ebay all weekend buying the bits I need to repair it - it should be getting crated and shipped in the next few weeks all going well.

Blacky do you need a front end ?
I have a complete, pretty much mint condition set of 01 softail wide glide forks, top and bottom triples, axle and four spot caliper sitting in my shed looking for a deserving home.
$1600 and because you're a member, i'll chuck in a Kuryakn fork brace.
I'm sure you can get cheaper on e-gay but these are genuine HD and only did about 6 or 7000ks before I switched to a billet front end on my old bike and they are in Perth so you can touch and stroke them before you buy.
I have no idea about bearing sizes, stem diameter, length or rake compared to an FXR tho.

***EDIT*** just read your other thread, looks like you got one already.
