1.36 DataMaster

Hi all. Have a question that I've posed on a couple other forums, with good help but not being able to fix the problem. So I  thought I might ask it here as well.

Got my TTS last week. Loaded all on the computer and ran the updater. 1.36 update. Everything went well until the DMaster run to collect VTune data. I get a 'lost PCM Sync' constantly so it's difficult to collect data to make a tune. I may get 200 frames, or I may get 2000. But I have to stop, check and resart the recording again while riding to get the ~2000 frames.

Long story short, a bud has same computer and cables. GigaWare USB/Serial btw. He runs full data runs without issue. But we noticed he has not updated his TTS software for months.

So I uninstalled DMaster 1.36 and installed DMaster 1.00 that came on the original disc. Now I can run full runs without the 'Lost PCM sync' and was also able to use the MasterTune and VTune, both 1.36 versions, to make a new final map. But as soon as I update DMaster to version 1.36, it gets the PCM Sync error again.

Has anyone else seen this? I'm pretty sure it's user error but I'm not sure what... Thanks in advance for any help.

    Thanks Scotty.

I'm sure you're right. I was just hoping not to have to buy another cable....but I will. I'm gonna start looking for the Belkin now. Thanks again.

Well, I found a Belkin F5U409v and it did solve the problem. I've got two good data runs now and I gotta say, I'm impressed. Just for the record, I was running a Gigaware® 6-ft. USB-A to Serial Cable....Model: 26-949. I have Vista 32 bit OS. That it the same as my buds but remember he was running an older version of the MTune, DMaster and VTune software when he got full runs. When I ran the older versions, mine worked as well. Any other questions, let me know and I'll give you any info I can. Thanks for all the help. Need to start tuning now......
