Watching tv last night I caught a review about a new Aussie biker movie. It is called The Marriage of Figaro and stars Adelaide's own Tony Hill (gidday Tone). It is showing now at Wallis cinemas locally and will soon be released nationally. There is lots of information about the movie to be had surfing the net. It's worth a watch.

    an update on it

Dear cast, crew, supporters of Fig, friends & family,

Just updating you on the progress of The Marriage of Figaro. So you can be one of the first to hear the great news...

At this point we have achieved the almost unachievable. Without a distribution agreement, we have not only secured a full season at Wallis in the original cinemas that we launched with, but have also added extra cinemas to the slate (listed following). This is an excellent result for a little indie, especially one that is being self-distributed and this success is all down to the huge support that Fig has received from you, your networks (and your networks networks) - essentially the power of word of mouth driving it all along. Obviously having a film which everyone finds entertaining is the key, Evan Williams (The Australian), recently said "The Marriage of Figaro is charming, spirited, unpretentious and often very funny, no less deserving of a national audience than many other Australian films in release, some of them much admired."

But we are not over all of the hurdles yet. In some ways this next part of the journey will be even tougher....

As you can imagine, as The Marriage of Figaro doesn't have a distribution company behind it, we don't have access to huge pots of cash to throw at marketing in a way that films are traditionally marketed. In some ways our strategy of effective use of marketing money (essentially because we don't have access to lots) is more effective anyway, as word of mouth is more powerful and worth much more in some ways than a spot on TV. We will still using traditional forms of advertising where we can do it cost effectively, but word of mouth and other grass roots activities are going to help take it over the line. Which is where you guys come in....

As people who have seen the film, I am hoping you will forward this e-mail (or compose your own), to everyone in your contact list, to encourage them to see 'The Marriage of Figaro' at the cinemas listed below - it would be great to add in your own comments about the film too. Also to ask these people to forward it again on to all of their contacts - anyone they might know that could see the film in those areas or the areas coming soon and so on. This will all help to ensure that Fig will get a proper showing in all of these places and more cinemas can be added, so all of Australia can enjoy it too. It will also show that even a little film can go on to achieve great things. Highlighting what can be done with a lot of love, determination and guts - the Australian way!

Thanks to everyone again for your support, and for the people directly involved you should all be proud! No Bucket...Mike is to busy with damage control trying to divert the publics attention away from the "othere woman " story. He is now on the front page of the Advertiser with his loving wife beside him lookoing for sympathy.Coming up with all the stories about hate mail ect when all the time he is trying to divert eveyone away from the fact he broke up someones marriage....Maybe a title for  A NEW MOVIE...."THE UNMARRIAGE OF MIKEY"...
