Haha, so I was thinking someone would have to say something like:

    To fix this problem,
    - Ride the bike to gas station
    - Open fuel cap, and stick gas pump nozzle in
    - Pull lever and fill tank
    - Ride off...

A strange problem though - one you don't want to be having at all - and glad they rectify it quickly and painlessly.

Same thing on my 2010 Sportster Custom.   Some times  it comes on minutes after filling up others up to 1/2 hour.  Going back for fix next Thursday.  Am thinking of getting the Fuel Gauge that fits as a replacement cap for the front brake master cylinder anyway but will see what happens.

Tis when you open the tank and look how much fuel is in there using your lighter to illuminate the darkness....

(note: if anyone is stupid enough to try this please set up streaming video first)

About 25 years ago I actually saw one particular moron use his lighter to check the fuel level on a 10KVA generator.  There are some real idiots out there.  His jaw was sore for weeks afterwards.  Not by my hand though.
