I have done so much reading on this topic that my eyes are starting to bleed........ but I'm still confused as to the best way to go........ I want to order my new bike with the 103" kit done at time of delivery purely so I can get a good "package deal" thrown in with the cost of the bike.
My local dealer (Frasers Perth WA) quoted $5000 for the "kit" which included all the parts needed for a stage II ...... but many parts that I'm not totally sure about (like SE Pipes? SE heads? and SERT?)......
So my question is, for a 2010 Bagger wanting a mild - moderate 103" build, that pulls nicely all the way to the revlimiter, but also has good ridability and manners...... What is the best combination of parts?? should I go with the dealers advice and use all HD SE parts?? or not?? and also, do I need to deck the heads? mill them? how much?

Yerp pretty happy with the 103 SWHD put in my bike, runs like a dream. I ride solo but I do a lot Km and am happy with the hp and torque I get from it now. Haven't had it on a dyno and never intend to either, waste of money in my opinion unless your tuning for racing or not using a TTS.

Surly how did you like the Andrews 54H cam in your last 103" build? How did it perform?

Nice cam for the road Berms.
It had a fat midrange that made it easy to ride hard without having to rev the hell out of it.
I might put one in the road king once i get back from Brissy.

berms ole mate i gota say me and the oleladie have a ultra with stock 96"and personaly i think it goes plenty good enough as is , dont get me wrong tho if i could afford it i prolly go the 103/107/110 or sumthing but i think alot of people think they need to go better and bigger ,, oh and im 110 kilo's the misses is 130+ kilo's and we where loaded to the max still pop wheelies and drag most cars off at the lights .....as for the $5000 sounds a bit rich to me you can get a 103"kit from shit forgot i think its frazers ?? dont quote me for $2000 ??!!! its in the latest heavy duty !
