I dunno if anyone has mentioned it yet but I read yesterday that the Vic gov has dropped (quietly) the research/need for a front number plate. Apparently they have spent $500,000 researching the best way to go about it as they have been losing $2,000,000 a year in fines from bikers, the article showed a biker giving the speed camera the bird. Anyway there was no realistic way to come up with something other than a dangerous to biker/pedestrian number plate. One would think that all states will drop the idea now.
$500 000 is probably a fraction of what they have really spent wasting our taxes on what was always going to remain as is.
some fatcat's laughing all the way to the bank.
You mean you haven't got rear-view speed cameras yet??????
I have lost 5 points and 700 bucks to prove that rear shooting cameras are here to stay.......No need for some puncy number plate on the front..
Bt
I feel for you Bobtail. That seriously SUCKS!
It's becoming much less enjoyable to ride your bike or drive your car these days unless you are simply driving from A to B by the shotest possible route. I have always LOVED driving and riding. I'm going to Busselton this weekend and I'm only half-hearted about taking out my RX-7 (instead of the "family" car) in case I get a speeding ticket on double-demerits. I like to take the road from SW highway up to Dwellingup and down to Waroona and then on to Buss. as the country looks great at this time of year.
I am unlikely to exceed the limit by more than about 15 km/hr anywhere but it's just not the same if you are glued to the bloody speedo instead of the road.
I HATE speed cameras etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just wish they would put more time into drug dealers and recidivist drinking drivers who are much more of a risk to society than me!
