cost me just over a grand for full engine chrome kit and chrome fork legs on fleabay ya just have to be keen to do the spanner work yaself

then seat cost me 500 from stealers and 300 for bars and 700 for brake and clutch and 450 for forwards so lot less than the 5g they want for the custom also you choose what ya want

Thanks for the promo Jilli :)

There is only cosmetic and bar and seat differences between the Standard, Custom and Night Train.

I didn't like the seat or bars on any of them so that wasn't a consideration and a set of chrome covers on a standard makes a huge difference to the look. If you are prepared to change them over yourself they are somewhere around AUD$1,000 delivered from the US. If you do a 103 kit and cams while you are at it you won't be duplicating work in changing the covers over ;)

    Good luck with the decision

    cheers

Had to make the same decision myself and I bought the Standard because I didn't want my bike looking like every other Softail Custom out there and, the extra money went into stuff like a Thundermax, air cleaner, pipes, saddle bags etc, etc.
