Never heard of car drivers been told to pose for a photo, sounds like the pig is very enthusiastic about the anti biker legislation. Something that we have been warned about. Police with too much power.

Chromer..........it's been a bit of a standard for a long time that you have to remove your helmet at servos (and probably banks!!) but I NEVER do. I always pull down my face mask or scarf so my face is clearly visible for the camera. Sounds like that servo was pushing it a bit if you were wearing an open face helmet. If it was a closed helmet..........then I don't really blame them.

I am appalled at what happened to you!!! Did the cops say anything as to why they pulled you over??? I don't like this at all......... time to start taking notes.....

Incidentally, there is no law that says that you HAVE to carry a Driving Licence. This is partly why we DON"T have the dreaded "Australia Card". It's called civil liberties, and those cops crossed the line. No way I would take off my helmet for the pricks..... fuck'em.

if you dont take off the helmet if "instructed" to, Its "Fail to follow reasonable request by police officer"
unfortunately if the Policeman is being a knob and is going to fine you now matter what, you are screwed. you can go to court but that normally costs heaps more than the fine.
    shit system

Sly, Photo after being pulled over....my ass....unless you have been arrested there is no reason why your photo should be taken...by the way it should be done at the nearest police station and not on the road side.
If you have done nothing wrong they have no right to take photo's...having a badge makes them think they have control.
I would refuse and ask what is the reason......;(

Tapey, it may be different in each state but I specifically asked a cop here in Perth the question and he said that you don't need to carry it. Forcing people to carry a licence is basically the same as having to carry an ID card which many people have fought against for years. All the cop cars here have on board computers and can look you up via your rego number. We have had photo licences for a few years and no doubt that shows on their PC. Maybe they haven't reached FNQ yet!

Anyone know if our laws are on the Net anywhere?
