That's really bad luck OLDNO7. Tell me, what was the actual offence as marked on the ticket. Just wondered. Like the others said, anything pointy is illegal. Seems like there's a national movement by cops against bike riders and especially Harley riders as we are so easy to find fault with.
On Friday, I was out the back of my shop. I could see a cop car parked and the cops using a radar gun to book motorists speeding as the road is actually a 50 zone. It's an arterial road with a mostly unused park on one side so 50 is quite unreasonable. Serious revenue-raising going on. Only 100m away in the other direction, out in front of my shop, is a REALLY busy shopping area with shitloads of drive-ins and drive-outs and people everywhere but the speed limit is 60. I've been there 20 years and NEVER seen a cop or a camera there.
It was so hard to NOT shout some shit at the pricks.

As to your ??? earlier Kiteman the ticket reads vechicle defect and particulars are sharp points on both foot pegs. Sharp my ass about as pointy as your pinky but he must have been having a bad day having to book people for enjoying there day off
But that was yesterday and i will be hitting the Ettomoga pub for a beer today and the copper will be back at work again trying to justify his job
Well, that's at least 2 in 25 years so I suggest we ban ALL pedestrians from crossing ALL roads. I guarantee that this will reduce the road toll. It's a lot more logical than banning pointy bits on bikes!

A 'sharp' wit when conversing with the constabulary will most certainly result in a far more thorough check of ur bike with a second opinion sometimes. You can here the points and dollars clicking over like the old proverbial one arm bandit!
