This worries me my fat bob has only done 8,000k but i will check it today.Question is how good is this True-Track where is it fitted and what do i need to fit one .
As you can tell I dont know anything about this system so any info would be great.
Cheers TC
hi guys
good to hear i fitted a true track from new on my fatbob from advice from this forum one to cut down vibration (what vibration i love it) secondly to improve handeling cause if your rear mount moves so does your rear wheel any flex at all will fuck up your handeling. i weigh 97 kg i have pushed my bike so hard through tight corners it scares me it rides so tight .my opinion true tracks should be compulsory after seeing the above photos its reinforced by decision so thanks for that i have printed it out and will pass it on to all the other rubber harleys.
Thanks gents I will look into it.It looks easy enough to fit. Thanks fo the info.
and remember when changing your oil filter.... ensure you don't drip oil on the front engine mount as it will stuff it in no time.........................
Gents
$749 delivered from Mckay harley is this a little step or about the going rate??
nah right price from mackay but as some one said earlier try m&n cycles in the states dont try direct as they will tell you to go to mackay.fuckem you need it and they got it. i paid full price but i realy think its worth it.
good luck
Just got my 08 streetbob back from workshop it has just over 10,ooo klms on her it was handleing strange so i replaced rear shocks with konis, then replaced front with progressive springs &heavy oil, then put a forkbrace on it , getting their then two weeks ago all hell breaks loose, all wheel bearings & front & rear engine mount buggered ! . Got the bike back & it still dont feel right ,went & had a good chat to peko ,sc choppers, end result put the thing in a jig only to find out topmotor mount was out of alignment by 8-10mm to the right off centre !! STRINGENT CHECKS ??
mate that is realy fucked it was probaly the top mount that caused all the problems in the first place. i thought the reason you take your bike to a harley dealer is because they should know all this shit.and be on top of it .iam starting to loose faith in harley mechanics. and you pay so much. a bike thats done 10 k should not have these problems.if it is an issue then it should be checked every service.
guys i read somewhere on this site if you lower your bike the true track will not work properly pretty bad actualy.
why dont they have a harley manual for dummies.
