RKing vs Heritage and Deluxe...

About to finally hand over my cash for a new tourer (RKing) ............. but at the dealership today the Heritage and the Deluxe caught my eye...... sat on them, felt pretty good, and I started thinking about the versatility of being able to dress them up with screen and bags for touring and strip them down for around town..... can't do that for the RKing.

So my question is.... with the completely different frame and different ride positions of the softails, how do they handle?  How do they feel out on the road and in the curves??  2009 Rking has a great reputation for handling and I wondfer how the Heritage and Deluxe stack up????

    Any non-biased opinions??

And your choice....not based on our unbiased opinions....?

Hey StreetBob, my choice, based on your unbiased opinions, is that a tourer is definitely the way to go........  now just deciding between a screen (RK)................   or a fairing (SG)................

    Cheers.

I loved the looks and the feel of my 09 Softail Delux, but it couldn't handle a bit of a play in the twisties (scrapped everywhere) and for my 6'3"frame, the seat was too far forward, and the bars too far back. This had me leaning back, and was very uncomfortable, so the bike is no more. But the 09 Road King is fantastic. Handles very well, super comfortable and looks shit hot.

May of found a long termer.

Thanks for the feedback Lofty.......  I'm only  5'10" so I will probably need longer/taller bars on a RK to fit me properly.

if you only do out of town rides then the bagger . i have a heritage , but i chose it because of its greater versatility .. having said that , would trade it tomorrow for a bagger as i now have another bike for local trips

If you are going to do any 2 up riding or any distance stuff get the RKC.......love mine, so does the other half.

That's comparing it with my previous Softail.
