I am finding that on longer rides the standard foward controls are not as comfy as i would have thought and i start looking for more leaverage to take the weight off my back. my thought was to maybe put a set of mid mount pegs on as well just for resting feet on  not moving the brake and gear controls,much the same as highway pegs on a mid mount bike only in reverse. I can see where the mounts go onto the frame, currently two holes with rubber bungs about  50 mm apart, there must be a block or some sort of mount that bolts onto the frame and then accepts the pegs, I cant find any clear pics or a part number for the mount (block) or whatever it is. As the Fatbob only comes with forward controls in Aus i dont expect anyone has had to do the conversion and  has left over mids for sale but i am thinking there must be  a lot in the US that started with mid and changed to forward.

Sorry for the longwinded explination, but my question is,  Is it called a mid mount mount , can anyone tell me how to find a part number for it. and does anyone know a good swap sell site in the usa i might try first instead of buying new. I thought of making uo my own  but would like to keep matching pegs for a nice look

Thanks for the prompt reply,  if i were looking for them  would that give me the mounting plate/block whatever it is tho. . there must be something that spacers out to clear the exhaust and have the female slot  that the pegs mount into

 You will find the parts you need on flea-bay,  The foot controls crop up regularly, see this link as an example..

And you'll need to change the primary outer case too for one that has the hole for the gear lever spindle.  Look at item number 150368831921

I dont intend to move the gear or brake controls so i think i am just after the mounts for  the pegs, once i fit them ,  i will match with the current HD chrome and rubber ones i have fitted on the forward controls

Just had a look at that link to ebay,  it is the black mounts that i am chasing,  the other controls are not necessary for my situation.  IT may be easier cheaper to buy new mounts. Thanks for the pic  it makes it easy to see and expalin what i want now

Sort of reverse highway pegs then - novel idea.

But you'd just need the footrest mounts and the pegs then.  I'd be willing to bet that there's a few forum members that have taken either a Street Bob or a Dyna Glide to forward controls that have just what you need in their shed.

Rodder  may be right ho looking at the US fatboy pics, theres a definate notch in the heat shield  which can only be for the peg by the looks so it might not be the cheap fix i thought as i still have the standard headers for a while yet

I found my forward controls a little uncomfortable, so have just fitted a reach seat ,now they are just fine.This may not be the answer for you but worth thinking about??

Thanks guys for the advice ,its not the reach that is the hassle its more the position of my knee resting on the air cleaner and the angle that seems to kill my lower back after a while, Only ever having British bikes or MX before the Fatbob I guess i am used to the upright style of the mids, Suggestions are apprectiated, Have got my stealer looking into his bin for an old set left over off a mount move or will consider new .If anyone has a set i,d be happy to hear from you,  Cheers

 Just out of interest, how much did the dealer sting you for the mounts?  Black or chrome?

70 bills chrome which was ok  i thought  , they were around 200 for both new in black. fitted yesterday yet to try them,  the heat shield was touching only with the bike running and weight on the peg  so a bit of work on the mount with the angle grinder and its a perfect fit now,  put the original black rubber pegs on  and they  are hardly noticible when folded up,

they work great  ,  only need to put the fett down for a while and its all good again,  or  if you want to get twisty in the corners it gives a whole new feel   i will take a couple of pics and put them up ,

RH peg  hits exhaust, (original tommy gun) when engine moves  but that is easily fixed with a quivk grind to the underside of the peg
