Taken from the PSB web site..................................

It’s that time of year again, and PSB is all revved up!

Western Australia’s largest motorcycling event - the Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show is back, bigger and revved up to take place on Friday the 11th to Sunday 13 September (yup, thats this weekend) at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.

    The show opening times are:

FRIDAY 10am – 9pm (come down after work!)
    SATURDAY 10am – 6pm
    SUNDAY 10am to 5pm

BMW will be launching the much anticipated BMW S1000 RR and we will soon see whether we can live with that front end and find out whether the magnificent Bavarians have given us a real alternative for a streetbike sector that has been dominated by Japanese and Italian Bikes for decades.

BMW’s new F800R Urban Street Bike as well as the R1200GSA A Tourer, G450X Sport Enduro and R1200RT SE Tourer will also be at the show.

The show will also feature new release bikes including the new 2010 range from, KTM, Husaberg as well as the new Ducati 1198 and Ducati Streetfighter!

The Hyosung motorcycle range has been given a major facelift and now features fuel-injection across the entire 250cc and 650cc V-twin 2010 model range (just what they need... more electrics). For the scooter lovers like yours truly, the Piaggio and Vespa range will be there which includes the new Vespa ‘GTS 300 Super’ (Im taking the cheque book) and it’s amazing/strange/obscure three wheeled ‘MP3 cousin.

Bring the credit card because there will be a large display of motorcycling gear and unlike other years.... it will actually be for sale! There will be new releases plus great clearance lines of helmets, jackets, gloves, boots, motocross, street wear and bike hard wear to name a few, from all the major brands for men and women including; Honda, Shoei, HJC, M2R, DriRider, Teknic, Fly Racing, No Fear, SIDI, TCX, Yamaha, Alpinestars, Dainese, AGV, KBC, RST, Shift Street, Fox, Kriega, Dirt Bike Chix, and more.

Matt Mingay will be there busting the odd minga along with the ASP Freestyle Motorcross Team and their aero work.

All the major brands will be on show including; Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Harley Davidson, Ducati, Buell, Morelli, Benelli, BMW, KTM, Husaberg, Triumph, Hyosung, Royal Enfield, Can Am Spyder, VMoto, Piaggio, Vespa, Pagsta, Bowell, and more!

SO.... NOW TO WHAT PSB ARE DOING:

The PSB stand will naturally be bigger and better this year with a huge display of some of the PSB communities most unique motorcycles including the unveiling of two new custom bikes which includes the much awaited 2009 MAD Bike. Created by Heathen Industries and a small team of dedicated PSB volunteers along with generous sponsors, and all under the direction of Hewie and his intricate attention to detail, this years raffle bike is one awesome bit of kit, and even better... you can buy a MAD Charity raffle ticket and win it! (*cough* ....if I don’t first).

Bring a spare $20+ and make sure you buy AT LEAST one ticket. All profits go to the benefit of charity.

Big Dubbleya will have PSB merch on site so if you don’t have any gear, buy (to take advantage of show pricing and no shipping), put it on, and then walk the show!

Did I mention the PSB Babes? No? Ohh, ok. I'll keep them a suprise then.

So come on down after work on Friday, or head to the show with the MAD Ride on Sunday (details here), hell.... come all three days just cos you can! but most importantly just come, wear your PSB gear if you have any, and hang with the PSB crew and help promote and expose this great little community to the bike riding population of Perth that aren’t already members.

If you do see someone wearing something ‘PSB’, introduce yourself to them with the usual “Hi, Im ________ from PSB”, and make sure you introduce yourself the same way to the crew at the PSB stand as well. Its great to put a face to a nickname.

You wont be able to miss the PSB display, its dead in the middle, conveniently... located... next... to..... the....... ummm........... bar.

Motorcycle parking on the plaza level of the Centre opposite the Medina Hotel (IE: smack at the front door) is free. Follow the signs on Mounts Bay Road.

Organise your second mortgage, hock your wife (/husband), bring your cheque book, pull on your PSB shirt and secret PSB underpants, put on a smile, and we’ll look forward to seeing you all at the show!

Stix, Noel and myself ventured there today and I gotta admit that it could have been better......

First of parking was chocka and some had to park thier bikes under the freeway overpass, not very secure at all, and  the line to buy a ticket was at least 200 metres long, the line to get in was 100 metres long, and once inside it was shoulder to shoulder stuff and the line to get a drink was 50 metres long.....It was near impossible to see any displays properly....If the thing is getting bigger and better they are surely gonna hafta look at another bigger venue.....Claremont show ground springs to mind.....
