hi, just done a 06 model sporty 883 front pulley was a 28t brought original 30t off a 1200 sporty, $110 easy swap, rear belt adjustment on the rear axle in the swing-arm went from from just before the rear of the centre of adjustment to the 1/4 front middle of the adjustment range still using the stock 883 rear belt .
the harley bar & sheild on the belt is pepermint green on 1200 & on the 883 its orange colour . it could be 1 tooth differ as differ colour bar & shield for differant belts on stock bikes , cheers

Did you have any trouble undoing the  1 3/4 inch nut on the shaft? I know it is reverse thread but I had to abourt as even with breaker bar could not loosen it. What tools did you use to undo yours, cheers.

hi, i use a small air rattle gun only to un doing the left hand thread , it has loctite on it so it is on hard  because they can come loose because the pulley is so heavy , cheers

Thanks daddyracer will give it a try. I suppose the rattling effect is what does it. I even fabricated a locking device so the sprocket wouldn't move. Veeery tight indeed! (just how we like em LOL)

hi,i adjust the back wheel tension up a bit  untill it's just -on firm (no slack ) & hold the back brake on at the same time as you undo it  if it's too tight,    put it into top gear also with the back brake on ,     cheers
