The site's been up for a week since it's launch and I'm impressed with the level of activity.  We've managed to get 13 members (I know the thing at the bottom says 14 but I have two accounts).  This may not seem like much but if the trend continues we should have over 100 members in a couple of month's time and my feeling is it will snowball to even more than that.

Many of you have echoed my initial sentiment for launching this site and that was to provide a local Aussie forum for Harley riders and we're off to a flying start.

You may have noticed the gaping black spot at the top of the site, it's not there because I'm a slack designer (well maybe) but what I was thinking is that this could showcase a members bike each week.  What I'll do for the time being is pick a photo from those submitted by the initial members and post it in the banner.  Later we could put it to a vote or something.

Feel free also to provide suggestions as to how the site can be enhanced.

    Cheers,
    Kingchops

    Nobody,

No dramas, I appreciate the effort you've put into posting, that's the key to the success of a site like this especially early on. I notice we've already doubled in membership since I wrote that yesterday. I rekon there's no going backwards now!

    Cheers,

Good call on the black hole. Showing our rides is a great idea.

Good to see membership growing, I'm sure once word gets out you will have a job on you hands kingchops.

How good is the quality of information already. It appears quite a few of the members are heavily into to performance side of things and are offering some great advice. Through Big Joes link I have ordered the exhaust and inlet eliminators for my softail (hope to get them tommorow). and am looking at ecu options.

Already this is a fantastic resource for those about to buy any model of harley or modify one.

Well done on the site and thanks for listening to the requests of the members, ie allowing comment on the pic thread. Every time I log on there are more new members. We just need more Queenslanders.

    Greg,
Thanks very much for the encouraging comments. Yes I'm really pleased as to how the site has gone so far. There are quite a few members with a great deal of experience as owners and also technicians. These guys provide value to the community as a whole. Good to hear that you've got some value out of it already. I feel that we've only scratched the surface with the site, it's only been up around 2.5 weeks and already we have close to 60 members. The most importanat thing is to get the word out so the membership grows, I'll be putting in some effort in the coming days and weeks to get more Harley related businesses and organisations involved which will be good. My thanks goes out to members such as yourself who have returned to the site and promoted some good topics. Stick with it the site will only get better.

    Cheers,
    KC.

You know what I like about this website...our Fearless (and much revered) leader rides a Sportster. A 883 at that! For two long, they have been rubbished. Good on you mate. I am stoked that a guy can come into the brand and then start something like this forum. That is a real enthusiast, not just a blowin who has the most brass to up show everyone else. I have nothing against the blokes with the brass or the skills to do some great things with their bikes as long as the direction of the majority is headed towards keeping the site a forum of common interest and hopefully develop a sense of camaraderie between the members. That to me would be a real win!

I used to be a Suzuki Hayabusa owner up until I felt the need, or the pressure from the Cheese and Kisses, to purchase a house. My next ride will be a Harley-sooner rather than later. I can't wait. These are interesting times ahead of us all.

    Macca,
Yes, I'm a relative newcomer to Harleys and in fact bikes in general. I'm 38 but before two years ago I'd never ridden a motorcycle. In fact two years ago my first bike was a 50cc scooter. Some may knock the Sporty but to graduate from a 50cc scooter to an 883 Sportster in such a short time for me is a pretty big leap. Anyway there's no going back now I'm addicted to riding and just as much to Harleys and am I'm sure it's not the last one I'll ever own. Having said all that I'm not a newcomer to the love for mechanical things I spent my 20's modifying and driving V8 cars, had a 1971 Rambler Hornet with a nitrous injected ford V8, that was a lot of fun!

What I like is that we can get a buch of people in the one space with a passion about a product, and lets face it ,there are only so many models, but noone has the same bike, they are all individual,an extension of the owner if you like. That is what makes Harleys so different to other makes. In this day and age there is so much rubbish bandied around about different makes of bike being great and others being rubbish (especially on U.S. sites where everyone is so patriotic, but have a one eyed perception of things,There is no such thing as a BAD make of motorcycle today, with the way technology is.But there is a sameness about a lot of makes.Harleys are different and that is what I like about them.My bike matches me,as I am different to the next bloke, and really don't care what others think about my bike or me.This forum is a good place to meet others of a similar ilk.Harleys and bikes in general get under your skin, once you ride one for a while, you never lose the passion.I know when I am too old to ride I will still have a love of all things on 2 wheels.Even told the missus that I want to be buried in my old denim patch jacket.

    Thanks Today,

Yes I was really surprised there was no dedicated forum for Harleys in Australia. I've had quite a bit of experience setting up sites so it seemed the right thing to do. I'm really glad it's taken off so quickly and it's hit a chord with AU fans.

    Thanks.

The site is probably the best now than it's ever been.  The quality of posts is high and the bullshit low.  As long as it stays like that I will support it into the future.  Thanks should go to all the members that continue to support it and the other mods who put in the time and effort to run it.

then the flood, the promised land was no longer, the great flood erupted and the exodus begun.

I'll offer a thank you and walk away

So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. (modern)
    or
"If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death; I do not say that he should make request for this. (orthadox)

no Bonkerz, not a quote from the greatest con in history
I would call it "impression of status"
