How much HP is enough?

My big bore bikes have ranged in rear wheel HP from 60ish for my 06FXDB to 175 for my Hayabusa. The FXDB definitely needed more and the Hayabusa was getting pretty close to enough

I like broad power with strong midrange over peak HP and my Hayabusa was around 100 FTLB for a lot of its rev range.

Karls 120/120 combo looks like it would be fun and probably surprise a number of sports bike riders.

100/100 seems to be a benchmark for HD motors and I am hoping to get at least the 100FTLB from my FXST

    What are others thoughts?

    cheers

Well I'd love some more power, but the problem is I've spent a fair bit of dough already.

I am having a hard time coming to terms with spending another $4k (?) on a decent engine build to get my TC88 up there. Especially not keen on giving the local steeler any more $$.

For now I will just be sticking with my slow nearly stock bike.

As a friend used to say to me - I NEVER FOUND A HORSEPOWER THAT I DIDN"T LIKE.

I'm satisfied with the length of my P**is so HP doesent matter that much, so long as the ride is FUN!!!!!!

I think the right amount of H.P. is how much YOU can use.If you want to go fast in a straight line ie Drags you will need a lot more than if you want to ride around the road.trouble is too many people want too much power and can only use 1/3 of it,unless the wheels are straight ahead, then anyone can do that. Some of the fastest lap times at Phillip Island by production bike for example is on 600cc machines, not the mighty H.P. 1100 or 1300 machines,so Horses for Courses.Even if the horses are metal ones

Yeah! but then on a Harley you know you can't go fast into corners so you may as well be able to accelerate fast out of corners.

    I agree with Nobody.
I'd be looking to upgrade brakes and suspension with any high Hp build.
