Hey guys ,

Heres one for the experienced ,im not sure whether any one has thought of this or done it before.

Im a fairly big bloke and the ECM is pissing me off because it pushes you forward .

I am in the process of moving my ECM from under the seat to under the guard in the same holes and flipping it so the connector goes in the same way.

Can i have the fins hard up against the bottom of the guard?

Would i have to wrap the whole thing for protection from water etc ?

I already have 3 in extended forward controls and i have a leperra bare bones seat on and i still havnt got enough leg room.

I will make a seat pan from fiberglass like i have done before.

My bike is lowered but there seems to be plenty of room under there when im on it.

Not my favourite idea either ,but its the only place i can think of without extending all the wires (hate wiring -No patience).
Maybe ill make a splash guard for it.

I think HD have moved the ECM on the 2010 sporty's between the frame and the rear cylinder, in an effort to make some room under the seat for a new sprung seat.

I have no idea if they have moved the ECM on other models, or even if the above info is correct? Scotty, let us know if this true.

But if you could move it to this position it might be better

thats wear P/STEV put my power comander ,on that down tube 07 bob,  i cookt 2 of them and then changed to the T/MAX , its now not behind the rear cyd

Have mounted ECM under the guard and built a stainless bash plate that wraps around it.
Hopefully it will withstand the exposure or im screwed $$$$$$$$$$.

I just hope your bash plate allows some air flow past the fins as Scotty has said. If you fry the ECM you're going nowhere....

Willing to take a gamble for the comfort ,From your avatar doesnt seem you have a comfort problem..........ha ha
Although i cant see that it gets much airflow stuck under my seat where the factory put it.

Ha Ha, yeah Softy, not too much problem on my 03 Ultra. It was great when you set the cruise, sit back watch the world go by and listen to some good tunes with the HD rumbling along. Better than sex..... Can't tour anymore unfortunately due to a fucked back. My Softail lets me blow the cobwebs out when I need to though.

If you look where Big Joes put their Fuel shot (on top of the stock ECM) you will find there is a shed load of space under the seat and all the road crap doesn't usually end up there. I'd just be sure the fins don't get covered in crap under the guard. It wouldn't take too much to overheat one on a hot day.
