Hi Just had first service on 09 Fatbob done and dealer fitted super tuner and SE air cleaner while it was there. When i picked up the box of OEM parts later the super tuner was there in a small white box. That was all , no instruction manual or CD . Not that i want to go tinkering as i do not have the knowledge just yet to do that but i would have thought i should have been given the software and manual as part of the kit. In the futre i may want to learn and tinker.I see it like a service manual for the bike , just cause i have one doesnt mean i want to strip my engine down. Can someone difinitevley tell me if the CD is part of the kit/purchase so i can go back and argue with authority if that is the case.. I dont want to go in asking for something that doesnt come with the super tuner and look stupid, lol i do that enuff already. I read a post somewhere that seemed to come from HD that says the Super tuner is shipped with software(CD) but cant find it again so maybe i was imagining it
Tuner has made a marked improvement BTW, Runs crisper and no popping on decel any longer which was apparent with just the SE slip ons before the fitting .
Cheers
Rob
The CD (~$30) and cables (~$70) are sometimes considered extra cost options. Since the dealer has the cables and software that works on any bike, he can save money by not buying them every time. Only the interface module is unique. You can get the CD and cables from HD or the dealer parts department. Waste of money if you intend to always go back to the dealer for a tune.
You can ask them if the normally provide the cables and CD with your purchase.
Yeah ,your right Scotty,
Maybe i should have phrased that better ,they are only flashes ,ive been to my local about 4 times when ive purchased slip on pipes,,then changed to a 2 into 1 then back to vance and hines drain pipes,.then a hi flow AC.
But i must admit i was pretty happy with the flashes as i didnt buy 1 of those things from them
No one seems to know anyone with a bike dyno and half a clue around here (ALBURY/WODONGA) as the proffesor (rick heffernen) is no longer interested in the new stuff only does road racing stuff now.
Thanks for the input guys, Bike seems to run fine with whatever file they loaded so i will leave it be for thepresent until my curisorty no doubt gets the better of me ,then i will go searching for a cd and cables and start tinkering
