Wondering if anyone has fitted different bars to their tourer?. If so what sort?. I like the width of the original bars but would like them to come back about 2-3 inches, as Im not the tallest of people. Also would like to have the cables internally wired to clean up the look, therefore would go for 11/2 thick or thereabout. Any suggestions or pics to help with deciding would be great.   Cheers

there seems ta be a fair bit of info on this on the US forum

i too am going to changr the bars on my 09 egs  for the same reason

had the hd pullback bars on my 07 electraglide and they were great

but it is an expensive job   local dealers quote $1100 for parts only

can get same gear from the states for around $650.00 usd  includes shipping

I have put HD reach bars on my RK. They come back about an extra 50+ mm and are slightly wider.

Am very happy with them. Ran the fly-by-wiring internally with new grips, you don't need another sensor module for the hand grip like they say you do.

Bars set me back $130 from the stealers (amazing price...!!!!)

I put the HD beef bars on my 08 RKC. I internally wired everything and pulling the connectors apart and repinning was reasonably easy. Yep you will be able to get away with the stock twist grip sensor if you are using the HD beefy bars. Anything longer you may need to get a new one. I did buy a new twist grip sensor and it has heaps of length. The HD 1 1/4 beefy bars look better and have more pull back - maybe two inches, which suits me. Everyone is different and what suits me may not suit you. The 1 1/4 bars have enough room to internally wire the controls and twist grip sensor, but forget it if you want to put heated grips on. You will definitly need 1 1/2 bars. The other thing is do you get bars that are smaller diameter at the riser clamps because if not you will have change them to the larger diameter. Also you have to think about whether you are going to need a new top cowl over the risers. I got the lot from the US except the bars. The HD bars were cheaper to by in Oz than the US at the time. Chicargo sent me the new risers and clamps, new twist grip sensor, new grips, new top cowl way cheaper even with freight. I got braided brake and clutch lines from them while I was at it. Given the way to Oz dollar is moving at the moment it may be time to start buying form the US again. Iam in Sydney. Give me a yell if you want have a look.
