I couldn't tell ya whether you can plead guilty in writing for the second hearing, probably give LegalAid a ring on that one but there is one thing I do know. Because the courts are so freaking overworked, early plea of guilty attracts a discount of 25-33 percent under the sentencing act. Whether they choose to apply this on a minor charge is up to the magistrate of the day. Probably something best enquired of a solicitor working in the field!
