I'm looking at replacing the standard Harley Dunlop D400's with either Metzeler ME880's or Avon Venoms.   I've read good reports on both.

Can I get any feedback on the perfomance of these tyres or any suggestions for alternatives??

 

If your looking for K's stay with the Dunlops

had the dunlop from factory on my nightster got just under 11,000kays handled like a bucket of shit then had a bridgestone battle axe got just over 8000kays but was alot more stable didnt wallow like bitch when gassin it outta corners now have the avon and it seems even better with grip than other two probaly cause its a softer compound,all depends how u ride i spose my mate has a 883 has nearly 29,000km on the clock with origanal dunlop tyre same as my first and he rides just as hard as i do but im on me third tyre with 22,000kms on the clock go figure

don't have a problem with the dunlops .

i have been thorugh 3 dunlops now, averaging 15000k each tyre. i havnt had a problem, i did ask the local boys what i should put on after the 1st one wore out, they ask if i had any problems, i said no so they said why change something thats good.
cant complain, my mother only get 7k-10k out of each tyre

the dunlop is a very strong tyre
as is the me 880, which was developed with deep tread for improved mileage over the me88
avon venom are a bit less in the miles dept, I have found in the past, but good for grip
