Today I spent quite a few hours cleaning and polishing the bike. It was pretty daggy after a recent ride where I got caught in the rain, certainly gets into all the nooks and crannies. As I was chammying ( spelling ) off the water and drying bits and pieces I had a good look under the footboards. I noticed that there was a bit of corrosion amongst the chrome surface. I then decide to take them off and have a good clean and look. Yes there is a bit of surface rust appearing on the underneath part. I cleaned it up and sprayed it with lanotec before putting them back on. I think I will get some Black anti rust paint next week and paint underneath. Anyone else studied under the footboards?
