I may be out of line but here goes anyway!
I find it a bit frustrating trying to weed out the actual text of a reply amongst the oversized pic of the senders Harley and the details describing it. It takes ages to scroll down a long page and I have to view Joe Blow's bike every time he makes a comment. Now, I am very fond of Joe Blow's bike but I don't need to see it over and over again!!
Would it not be better if either the pic was
A not there
B smaller
C available for view by clicking on a link (my favourite)
Also in the "signature", wouldn't say, "04 Fatboy" , be enough info without needing to know what cam, pipes, filter etc that the bike has.
Surely a forum member could use his bike pic as his "avatar"?
If we had "C" then the sender could perhaps have several pics of their bike attached.
I am a member of another car forum which has a similar style to this one but it has de-generated into the pics being ads for the car company that the sender works for or supports.
Here's an example:

My comments would be the same for the US HD forums too. I'm not trying to sh*tstir here, just making a suggestion to improve the readability of this excellent venue for sharing information.
all the best

Kiteman, Very good topic raised! I don't mind seeing peoples signature images but they should keep them reasonably small so as not to be annoying when reading a long thread. This goes for images in general, to date I've set a 300k limit which I think is working generally well at present. I actullay think it's good to have a long text description of your bike/mods in your signature and my thinking for this is that it allows other members to quickly identify what bike you have and what mods you have done. It helps others when they can ask someone about a particular mod they might be thinking of doing. Very good point about needless advertising of businesses and the like on other forums. I'll be keeping a close eye on this. I'll be taking a "zero tollerance" policy on any blatant spam posts or signatures etc. Again to date it hasn't been a problem here and I'll make sure it doesn't occur. Would also be interested to see what other think about these issues?
Always one !!!

I quite like reading other peoples mods and don't mind a small picture of a bike. It becomes painful when the personal info overwhelms the thread.
However the danasoft "your ip is...." things add nothing bike related or otherwise important to a sig.
cheers
Surly
As long as what is included in the page is owner bike related & not commercial and the administrator allows it, so be it.......................JMHO

My only comments would be to restrict the size of pics in the sig section. I like seeing bike related details in the sig.
I have to aggree with the Kiteman, i think that when you reply to a post the only thing that should always be added is the signiture without the photo of your bike.
The photos should be in the left hand pane / Avtar and not posted as a 6x4 print every time sombody makes a reply. And we all know if the topic is of interest and you like to have your say many times then the thread becomes 6foot long.
So i would say that if we use the introduction section and post pics of your bike bio there & leave the reply to messages reasonably clear of the clutter.
I've been holding back in this but I can't anymore so here's my 2 cents.
Loosen the sphincter and stop trying to organise everyone.
I get enough of that shit at work.
If somethings a problem it'll get moderated. Kingchops is doing a great job so leave it to him to decide these things will ya !
That's why this is the best forum on the web, cause' we can say what's our minds and post what we want about our bikes and other aussie stuff and have a laugh, and NOT have to worry about having my shit in the right format to save someone's wrist from all that hard mouse moving work
For what it's worth I fuckin love seeing photo's of harleys. The more the better.
i noticed the only person to agree and the thread starter both have less than 10 post's, It will take a lot more than that to get used of the format of this site. I found the U.S site hard to follow at first too but i soon got used to it and now i also enjoy reading the signatures and looking at the photo's, the bigger the better.
So A, B and C that.
I find GREGS avatar very distracting and i just stare at it i cannot read the other threads.
I love to look at the pics, read the mods, browse the profiles read the job specs.
But most of all show us and tell us about ya Harley keep it coming guys.
RISKY
Hey wozza i didnt give you permission to use my next video clip
Hey Night Train, great looking bike. She's a beauty.
I want those pipes on my softie. Could you please tell me more about them?
What are they called? What mods do you have to do when installing them? Approx costs.
Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
I am trying to get use to it as it is....dont change anything.......
Boof well said mate....here here..
