My 2000 Models charging system problem started 6 months ago, with a flat battery.

I charged the battery and put a multi meter on the battery and reved the motor - nothing.

I took the regulator off for a look - couln't find anything so I put it back on and tested it agian with the meter - it was working, must have been a bad earth.

Nothing again now, even the two wires coming out of the primary from the stater dont show anything on the meter.

Any suggestions, or do I just order a new stater, primary cover gasket and into it?????????

My Mate who is a retired N.R.M.A. Mechanic and I had a go at what Scotty sent me yesterday, it all lead to only one outcome, the regulator was stuffed.
I went around to my other mates place that had an old regulator in his box of goodies, after a few cut wires and a bit of soldering i fitted it up, and bugger me it works.
I learnt a bit about my bike, bought my mechanic mate a carton of grog, going in today to see how much my other mate is going to charge me for the regulator, another carton probably, Faaarrrrking Great.
Another good one Scotty, always a beer in my fridge for you!!
