I'm about to replace leaking cylinder base gaskets on a mates 1991 FXRS, the bike alredy has K&N A/C, Dynajet Carby kit & Exhaust fitted.

We will be fitting a Andrews EV27 cam, Crane single fire ignition, new rings & lifters when motor is pulled down.

My question is can I fit a thinner head gasket to slightly increase compression ratio & still use standard pushrods?

If so what size gasket can be used?

What brand cylinder base gaskets are recomended to prevent future leaks? (thinking about using James gaskets)

    All advice appreciated

    Cheers

james metal base gaskets seem very effective in helping to cure the common issue of evo base gasket leaks
they also make a thinner head gasket for evo (.032?) if you prefer that brand
