Ride route recommendation - Melbourne

    Howdy,

    Have about 5-6 hours to spare on Saturday and looking for a good scenic route. Down the coast or up in the yarra valley region. Can't seem to think of anything. Already been numerous times to

    -Reefton Spur
    -Black Spur
    -Yea
    -Kinglake
     -Dromana (arthur's seat), portsea national park, etc.
    - Great Ocean road
    -Great Alpine road (omeo, owens, etc)

    Any advise or route suggestion would be greately appreciated.

    any1? - sure there gotta be good roads in country vic that I haven't explored yet?

    Hey Wazza mate,

    Done the Yea route so many times (over the last 10 years riding metrics).

    Any other recommendations?

    Probably a bit late for ya now but....

    Couldn't tell ya the exact route (I just went for a ride and didn't worry too much about where I ended up) but through Warburton and up through the hills to Mount Donna Buang is good. I then went through to Healesville (about 10 km of dirt but worth it for the shortcut) up through Alexandra and across through Mansfield to Mt Buller.

    Some of the best roads I have ridden (esp Buller access road) and pretty much bugger all traffic when compared to Gt Ocean Rd etc.
