If he has owned bike since new or a long time, lots of sentimental value in it that's why!!!

Insurance doesnt always cover the 20 grand in extras you probably have on it

take a look at the bike has spent shitloads

Its worth it, it's an evo and they don't make them anymore.....

10k is good insentive to give up the thief as well,, + if he gets it back hes got a nice bike he knows for 10k.. wot can you get for 10k??

I am sure you would be able to sue the thief. Thats what I would do, sue the prick and clean him out.
