Oil out the airfilter breather

had a little scare today, maybe some members can shed some light on my problem,

got my 84 evo bike out to take for a ride to make sure everything still works, i haven't ridden it in about 2 months, hit the starter fired second crank as allways, noticed the oil pressure was way up, about 40 psi, thought ok , i'll keep an eye on that till she warms up, then i noticed oil coming from the bottom of the air filter dripping onto the pipes and nosecone, looked at oil pressure still way up, shut her down and inspected further. Took filter off and removed oil breather hose and started  her again , this time only a little oil was coming out, so let her idle for a good 5 minutes. It seemed as though when she warmed up and the oil pressure dropped to between 15 and 20 psi ,the oil out the breather hose stopped ,

went for a 10 minute ride and returned , checking all the while to see if any oil was coming out ( none did ) , and let it idle some more with no more oil coming from the breather once home.

so is this normal as for an early evo that has sat for awhile, ?

and should i be worried as it has never done this before, but then again it hasn't sat for that length of time without me starting it ???

your thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

reasonably common if its been sitting for a while, called wet sumping, more common in shovels etc. does no harm, just makes a mess,if it persists there is a relief valve consisting of a spring and ball bearing located under a plug on your oil pump, you can replace this or just clean it out.usually not a problem and normally only does it once after the bikes been sitting for a while.
