Looking for advice on protective eyewear to use with my open face helmet. i.e best brands, sales outlet etc Bike shops do not seem to carry much at all. 

Any info would be appreciated ..

 

I only wear cheap sunnies.....

I use the cheap-arse 'chopper' brand padded glasses. Found them the best to fit my melon.
A lot cheaper than other well known brands........ebay mate.......

Ive got saftey glasses and they work fine.

But each to there own

when it comes to open faced helmets.... dont cheep out on shatter proof sunnies, you wont get too many chances with flying debry

Mate go to Bunnings to the protective eye wear section. Cool shatterproof sunnies from about $12 - $30. I got a pair of wrap arounds there and they are great.

Wiley-X Bricks, scored em on ebay from the US for under $100 Aus delivered. Brand spankers. Think i was just lucky.

Out of town I use the Fuglies SAS (newer version). Short out of town trips I use a pair Wiley X Top Jimmies. Around town its usually SOS eyewear with interchangeable lenses. At night Chopper eyewear clears, or just clear safety glasses if its around town - only because I haven't bought a good pair of clears yet, but they are actually what I need most - and I forget the SOS pair has clears. 

 

Eye Ride Motorwear. Good to see you made it Ace. I told you that you wern't allowed on this site until you got a HARLEY. I let him go for a ride on mine(i had to ride his BMW), and look what happened, he saw the light and went and bought a new Harley. He is all  now.

I forgot to say....it's a Softail as well. I pointed him in the right direction.

I just ride with my eyes closed ...never get anything in them !!....mmmmmmmm ...maybe thats why I crash into things

I agree with Charlie.

Get a flip full-face helmet - I've got a HJC Sy-Max. You get the best of both worlds - excellent wind protection and sound exclusion in full-face mode, and ability to talk to people, breathe, buy petrol, etc with the flip-face up.

Mine's white. For safety.

And because we don't want to look like every other "I am an individual" harley owner who wears a black open face.

A few years ago I went on a ride with a group of harley owners (with open-face helmets). We were traveling pretty well until a few spits of rain started to come down. They all slowed down to 80K 'cos the raindrops hurt on bare flesh. We powered on regardless.

Wear what you like, but I reckon a full-face is essential, and a flip-face is even better.

I went to www.safetyoptics.com and got the TERMINATOR Weather Brown Lens

They look tough and with medium impact can protect against assault from some idiot weilding a nail gun. That should come in handy as a value added factoid ;-)

Trade up to a Bagger with a screen and you won't need protection
