Howdy rowdy,s can anyone recomend a brand for the new tyre that i need on the Fatboy, i have just worn out a Metzler ME 880 Marathon, am in the Gold Coast area any place to go in particular and wot about a balance??? spin em up on the machine or static style, cheers ratz

I'd go the Dunlops meself. But tyres are a personal choice. Ive run dunlops on my fattie since 05 apart from the one time I tried some avons, they were ridiculousy shithouse. Dunlops seems to hang on well and I push it a fair bit in the tight stuff.

I am assuming you are also running a Metz 880 on the rear. Keep a Metz on the front as well. I use them on the Heritage and get great milage from them. Last change over, got 31000 front and 20000 rear. You could try TwinTech Motorcycles at Southport or Revolution Motorcycles at Currumbin.

I dont even reckon id get that outta me front lol. I must admit Im a bit dunlop biased due to track days down the island yrs ago

Metz is obviously a harder tyre yeh evo ?

Am running a Michi Commander on the rear just had a look at it prob need replacing in a coupla mths got about tweny thou outa the front, i also like to ride hard an think im gunna have a prob one day because of this as the fatty,s scrape so early, you can shave with my running boards and even after i went two" ova on the front fork tubes but they are good on the M1 cheers ratz

Don't think it is a harder compound, just the way I ride. Don't take off hard and rarely use the front brake (habit from dirt riding days). Also check the tyre pressures on a regular basis. Have used Avons and Dunlops in the past but feel more secure with the Metz.

Yeah I like the Dunlops better Ive got a metzeller now and dont think its as good
