And here I was thinking of upgrading me bike to get a few more horses.......NOW... I may be looking at taking one cylinder off instead

Check your local legal requirements. From my understanding, they are not allowed to operate in the rain as the beam has multiple reflections off wet surfaces. Check it out and you may have a get out clause.

Rain makes no difference to doppler slant radar as used here in Oz.

The radar unit transmits a radar beam, at a frequency of 24.125 GHz, which is 5 degrees wide, 20 degrees high and slanted at an angle of 20 degrees across the road. As a vehicle travels through the beam, the reflected radar frequency is changed (Doppler effect) and the beam is reflected back to the radar antenna. The antenna receives any signals which arrive from the same 5 degrees by 20 degrees and converts this into the speed of the vehicle. If the vehicles speed is greater than the threshold speed set by the operator, a photograph is automatically taken of the vehicle. A camera is capable of taking two photographs every second, and detects the speed of vehicles travelling in either direction - and don't think that if you don't see a flash that your photo hasn't been taken - they are phasing in infra red cameras which don't need flash units.

I got done TWICE in the middle of nowhere about 12 months ago
once from the rear second on the way home
What they didnt know was that although they got 2 pictures 1hour and 6 minutes apart I had done a 140 km round trip and stopped to see clients !!!!!!!
However it was in a company car so the entire office had a good chuckle when the photo's and fine came in
